Being A Dog: A Tail Of Mindfulness
By Maria Gianferrari
Illustrated by Pete Oswald
Simply be like a dog with this irresistible picture book by beloved author Maria Gianferrari and illustrated by #1 New York Times bestselling artist Pete Oswald that introduces readers to mindfulness.
Join a young child and their dog as they experience every minute of the day to its fullest—from the second they wake up to the moment they fall asleep. Readers will love barking, wagging, and sniffing along with the gentle cues in the book. Interactive backmatter includes prompts for a mindfulness walk that engages all five senses as well as a guided breathing exercise.
The truth behind this book was mind blowing. Have you ever taken the time to just watch a day in the life of a dog? They are totally in each moment – making use of each of their senses at the appropriate times. We could learn a lot from watching. Living in each moment, taking time to enjoy all the senses going on in each moment. Mindfulness is a great way to keep your mind fresh and learning how to enjoy life. A wonderful way to teach this to children with a exercise in the back to learn how to breathe. It’s never too early to teach our kids how to be mindful. The cutest illustrations paired with the story bring the book to life.
