In the sixth installment of the delightful Honeycake book series, Nala’s uncles, Victor and George, take her to a fundraiser where she meets Alexis, a girl with an artificial arm. Through her interactions, Nala learns that you are never too young to lend “a helping hand,” that it’s okay to be different, and that being different doesn’t stop you from doing great things in life.

My Review

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book needs to be in the hands on children everywhere! It helps raise awareness about amputee’s. It also showcases that even though these kids may have a disability, they can achieve great things all while going about a normal life. They find different ways of doing what most people take for granted. I thought the charity aspect was phenomenal, especially since this author gives all her proceeds to a charity. The diverse set of characters as well as girls illustrations make this book truly remarkable! I’ll definitely have to go check out the first five in the series now!
