When I was younger my favorite books to read were the Black Beauty series. There's just something about the bond between a girl and her horse that can touch any heart.
As I read Gallant I was so happy to see such writing – with hopes that every little girl will have access to this heartwarming story. We follow a young girl named Gracie and her horse Gallant. However, after an accident they are separated. Will these two best friends ever find their way back to each other?
I loved every minute of this book! I've read a picture book by Claire – Bentley and The Magic Sticks, which was absolutely wonderful. I'm so happy to see Claire branching out into pre-teen/young adult books and am excited to see what she comes up with next! The pacing is nice and steady, and the characters are relatable. The plot is one that I fell in love with – I'm always cheering on the underdogs! If you are looking for an easy read and happen to love horses, drop what you're doing and pick up this book!
