Boomer, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is unable to yip. Boomer lives with Nana Weathers, a musician who possesses a magical ring. Boomer quickly bonds with Nana’s nine-year-old granddaughter, Chloe, who has a stutter. Her big wish is to sing like Nana. Chloe and Boomer make new friends at dog obedience school and grow their confidence. By teaming up in the music room and gaining a little help from their friends, will Chloe and Boomer find their voices?

My Review

The first book in the Boomer’s Tales Series. A heartwarming tale of a girl and a puppy who need each other. Nana has a special item that allows her to communicate with the dogs. Ever since Chloe lost her parents she’s stuttered and is having a hard time making friends because of it. Nana is dogsitting a mommy dog and her pups. The one pup can’t seem to yip. Everytime he opens his mouth nothing comes out. Chloe ends up being able to keep the puppy and names him Boomer. Can Chloe & Boomer help each other?

About The Author

Christine Isley-Farmer’s first book in her series, “Boomer’s Tales,” features a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as the story’s narrator. Christine loves this dog breed and has owned three Cavaliers. She encountered her first Cavalier, Fleur, while performing with the Harrisburg Opera. She was captivated by the big brown eyes and gentle, lively nature of the breed. Her present Cavalier, Dylan, likes to walk with her, chew on his favorite treat-stuffed Kong toy, and snuggle next to her in a recliner. Christine, a classically trained singer who has sung professionally in the United States and Europe, has also been a voice teacher. The stories in opera and song have fascinated and inspired her. The power of stories and music’s healing qualities have woven their way through her life and have found voice in Finding My Yip.
