Hello! Hometown Heroes

Follow along as a little boy, his mother, and his dog walk through town, meeting and greeting everyday heroes along the way.

With gently rhyming text and engaging illustrations, Hello! Hometown Heroes introduces young readers to the people in our neighborhoods who make our lives safer, cleaner, and better. From the mail carrier and sanitation workers to firefighters, doctors, nurses, and more, the text succinctly describes what each hero does, and then provides children the opportunity to say “hello” to them. The final spread shows the whole town with each hero doing what they do . . . along with a simple act of heroism the child performs—proving that all you need to be an everyday hero is a little bit of kindness and thoughtfulness.

My Review

An amazing book featuring everyday people that we don’t always see as “heroes”. I think it’s a great book showcasing the hard work that others do so that are lives can run smoothly. Especially with the pandemic, you start to realize all the people that make our lives easier one way or another. Ever occupation out there helps, from the mailman to the farmer – we all utilize these services on a daily basis and recognition of this is important. A phenomenal book!

The Duo Behind The Book

Toni Armier is a full-time freelance writer who loves to tell simple stories using rhyme. The author of several books for young children, including Mommy Loves Me 1, 2, 3 and It’s Bath Time!, Toni always makes sure to say hello to the everyday heroes in the North Carolina town he calls home.
