One More Year

One More Year

By Allison Ione Ballenger, Illustrated by Carlos Vélez Aguilera

Happy birthday, Sister!

It’s terrific to be two!

You don’t know of all the magic

that’s in store for you….

There is magic to be found in every moment … if you just keep looking!

In this colorful tale, a big brother introduces his little sister to the many characters she might encounter with each passing year. From elves in drawers to mighty dragons to snakes that sing sweet songs, there is always something to look forward to-and plenty of fun to have in the meantime.

My Review

Rating: 5 out of 5.

So much fun to read! A colorful story told in flawless rhymes, paired with gorgeous illustrations – you can’t ask for more! I love how the book shows the closeness between siblings, and how the older brother shows his sister about all the magic in the world. I’m a huge fantasy fan so I was pulled in by the cover alone (wizards, dragons & more). Definitely a book you should check out.

About The Author

Just like her readers, Allison Ione Ballenger grew up loving books. The youngest of three children (and somewhat gullible by nature), Allison was the perfect audience for her older siblings’ hijinks and tall tales. They taught her to always be on the lookout for magic, which is a gift she enjoys sharing today. Learn more at www.aiballenger.com.

This book is a tribute to her older brother, Scott, who passed away unexpectedly in 2017.

I hope you are all enjoying your year so far. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the four people who lost a loved on at The Capital Building the other day, it’s horrible that this has happened. I hope you all stay safe out there and have a wonderful day.
