Jot & Click

Jot & Click

Jot is Marie Lynn’s lucky pencil, but there’s a new pencil in town, or at least in the pencil pouch. Click is mechanical, never needs sharpening, and has back-up erasers. How can Jot compete with that? Joined by his two pals, Blueberry (broken blue crayon) & E (tiny pencil). Jot makes a plan to get back to his top spot in the pouch. Will he and his friends succeed, or will they end up in the dark and dusty bottom of the pouch, forgotten?

Rating: 5 out of 5.

What a great book about friendship, jealousy and unlikely connections. This is an adorable early readers chapter book with pictures. I think every child goes through this same scenario in their younger years. They have a best friend, but then that friend has a new friend. The child feels almost as if they are replaced. This story shows that there’s room in their lives for everyone, no need for jealousy. Each friend has their own special place just like Jot, E, Blueberry and Click do in the pouch. Great book, extraordinary message.

The Storyteller

Sheila W. Jackson finds great joy in writing stories that resonate with children. For over 30 years, she has taught hundreds of children to love books and learning. As a classroom teacher, she shared countless stories with her students that made them think, smile, laugh, and sometimes cry.

Sheila weaves her classroom experiences and fond memories into her humorous and adventurous Jot & Click chapter book series. She also helps build self-esteem in children through her newest rhyming picture books which will be released in the Fall of 2020.
