Heartache. Revenge. Love. Ingredients for the perfect curse. Will King Titanite pass the first test of his family’s torment?

On the night King Titanite’s twins are born, he must make a choice: send one daughter away from the palace or risk losing everything, including his twins. Empathize with Peridot, a shy, kind-hearted princess, longing for her father’s love. Become empowered by Ruby, a fiery, self-driven princess, determined to always be victorious.

A three thousand-year-old curse binds those twin princesses to their family’s past and future. A curse driven by pain, revenge, and love. Titanite believes his queen knows nothing of the curse that split the Land of Carnelian in two and also burdened his family. However, with the help of a mysterious being, the queen has her own motives for their daughter who remains in the palace. Enjoy the journey towards the curse-driven battle between the princesses as they learn to harness their hidden royal powers from unexpected companions.

Read the beginning of this young adult fantasy series to find out which Sapphire princess will become the next heir to the throne and help trigger The Carnelian Curse.

1. What was your inspiration for writing Titanite’s Royal Secret?

My inspiration for writing Titanite’s Royal Secret was a combination of my love for gemstones, the different anime I watched involving magical powers, and of course the wonderful books of my time involving magic as well.

2. Who was your favorite character to create?

I loved writing Azurite’s character. He was always fun to write dialogue for and to start his growth in a pivotal point of the book.

3. Do you have a favorite author/book/series?

I will always love the Harry Potter series. I grew up with the characters from the age of about 13 to 17 when the last book came out. Currently my favorite series is the Crave Series by Tracy Wolff. It has captivated me since the first page.

4. What do you do when you get writer’s block?

Thanks to wonderful authors on YouTube, I have learned different strategies along with recommendations for resource books. I sometimes will take a break if I feel like I’m pushing myself too hard and the words aren’t coming through. I’ll also look through my plotting books to see what stage I’m in currently in my draft and see what is missing.

5. What is your ideal writing space?

I tend to write in one of three areas: my desk, my favorite comfy royal blue chair, or Starbucks. I like to be comfortable, have music to put me in the zone, and usually a chai tea latte is close by.

6. Your most anticipated book you’re waiting for?

In regards to my series, I can’t wait to release the second book. It was so much fun to write and I feel my craft in writing grew a lot during the progression of this book. As for someone else’s book, I cannot wait for Charm to come out from Tracy Wolff’s Crave Series. It has such a beautiful cover and it holds the key to a mystery well-written with a previous book.
