Arty And The Forest Of The Forsaken
The epic tale of an ambitious twelve-year-old boy and his ragtag group of misfit friends who are flung into the heat of battle as a power-hungry dark wizard takes over their home, Camelot. In turn, they must embark on a dangerous quest to The Forest of the Forsaken and become the knights they have always dreamt to be in order to save their families and their kingdom. But first, they must look past their own differences and learn to work together.
I found this story to be intriguing and magical. Debut author Nicholas Jauregui delivers a tale of friendship, bravery and fighting evil! The characters are young and definitely relatable to pre-teens. The plot was fun and unique. The world building was done exceptionally for a first time author. No huge information dumps just beautifully transitioned throughout the story. The writing style was amazing – pleasant enough for adults as well as the younger community. I personally couldn’t put it down. The pacing is fast, you can’t wait to see what happens next.
The one thing I will say is that I find it geared closer to the 10-15 age range only due to some mild violence. Besides that I found the story refreshing and am now a fan. I can’t wait to see what Nicholas comes up with next!
