When a child finds a monster under their bed, they have a big decision to make: react with fear and hate or love and playfulness?
I Love You, Monster! helps children learn to acknowledge and befriend their fears, set healthy boundaries, and build social-emotional skills like compassion, courage, and flexibility.
This 32-page, hardcover children’s book with full-color illustrations was written by a therapist, mom, and educator. The rhyming verses and whimsical illustrations make it appealing to younger children, while the thematic metaphor of the monster offers more advanced teaching opportunities for older children. “I Love You, Monster!” offers a tool for parents, caregivers, therapists, and educators to help children learn how to identify and acknowledge their fears, as well as set healthy boundaries. It has a Mindfulness-based approach to teach social-emotional skills such as compassion, courage, curiosity, empathy, flexibility, and self-connection. The book offers flexible content that is suitable for children ages 2-9 and the high-quality content has been reviewed by child therapists, parents, and early education specialists.
