But using technology can bring a set of challenges that are new to both Alicia and her parents. Understanding the different apps and games and how to use them properly can be tricky. Will Alicia know how to use it in a way that is fun and allows her to connect with her friends while being safe and secure? Both her and her parents will face the excitement and challenges together as she jumps headfirst into using her new tablet.
Alicia’s birthday is coming up and she wants nothing more than to get a tablet. All of her friends have them! Her birthday comes around and her dad gives her his old tablet. Alicia is very excited and can’t wait to check it out. However, having a tablet is a whole new world filled with dangers and responsibilities.
I thought this was a really awesome subject to touch on. Most kids don’t understand that being on the internet can leave you wide open to people you don’t know, and they might not always have the best for you in mind. The author did a great job at portraying what parents should teach their children when introducing new technology to them. This book is a day paced and fairly quick read. The characters are very relatable. Overall I thought it was a good book.
