My Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I’m almost ashamed to say that this was my first “space opera” I’ve ever read. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the moment I started reading.

Nyx Marcus, a space pirate, wants to prove to her father that she is worthy. She wants to captain the Medusa one day and to do that she needs to find the Star of Erebus before anyone else. The crew highjacks the Thanatos because there are rumors that the Star is on the ship. When she ends up finding the Star of Erebus, her entire world changes. She has been lied to get whole life by the same people she trusted. Her father has been killed and she wants revenge.

The pacing of this book was very consistent, and there was never a dull moment. I couldn’t put it down. The author does a great job at leaving you hanging at the end of each chapter – leaving you no choice but to read another, then another. The characters are diverse and pleasantly complicated. Lovers to enemies, secrets unleashed. Nemesis to ally, strangers to family – the twists and turns never stop.

I was completely engrossed while reading Erebus Dawning and cannot wait until the next book is out!

She has been an author since she was old enough to write (and illustrate) a stapled-together ABC book, which she still has packed away in a box of childhood memorabilia.
