Book Description:
The evolution of buildings, transportation and power will determine how our future looks and feels, and in the book Roger Duncan and Michael E. Webber argue the Energy Efficiency Megatrend will shape our future technology. Buildings and vehicles will evolve into sentient-appearing machines such that we will be living, working and moving about inside robots. Buildings may develop personalities and the transportation system will have any manner of vehicle available at a moment’s notice. This complex, interconnected system will be powered by the clean and efficient conversion of fuels and energy flows that surround us.
MY REVIEW ~ I think it’s safe to say we would all like to know how buildings, transportation and power will advance in the future. Even the changes that have came about during my life have been phenomenal. This book is a real eye opener. I had no idea that buildings, transportation and generating electricity made up more than 75% of the total energy consumption in the US. The most interesting part to be was the future of transportation. Can you imagine communicating with your vehicle – without speaking? Or that your vehicle will be able to communicate to traffic lights, crosswalks and parking spaces? A fully automated vehicle! This book blew my mind with the possibilities that will must likely come to fruition in the very near future. I can’t wait to see the changes come about. A well written book packed with a ton of amazing possiblities.
