As Mama tucks her sweet little boy into bed she kisses him goodnight. The little boy rolls his eyes and says “Mama, I’m too old for kisses.” Mama replies “Oh, kiddo, you are never too old for kisses.” Mama playfully explains to get little boy how sloths, lions, polar bears and even horses kids their little ones – telling him that’s how God made them. Mama then shares the way God kisses us throughout the day, through ways we may not even realize.
Then it’s Papa’s turn to come in and hug his little boy goodnight and tells him about the love we can see in the world around us and how it serves to show us God’s love. The little boy finally realizes that he will never be too old for Mama kisses or Papa hugs.
I absolutely love this book! Lisa T. Bergren hits a home run with this one. First off, what child doesn’t think at one point in life that they are just too old for hugs and kisses. I know I went through it, but now that I’m older I cherish those special moments with my parents. I know I will go through this with my son. Also with children sometimes it’s hard to grasp all that God is, by comparing Him to acts of love is brilliant. A beautiful representation of God’s love for us. Lisa T. Bergren is a magnificent writer. I myself own books from the “God Gave Us” series. Each and everyone one of her children’s books integrate God in a way children can understand.

Lisa T. Bergren is a bestselling award-winning author of more than 50 books. Her “God Gives Us” series has some over 4 million copies! She not only writes children’s books, she writes adult fiction and devotionals as well. Her and her husband, Tim live in Colorado Springs with their family.
